PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize the amount of foreign crude molten glass, which has been formed in a fusion furnace, discharged from the melting furnace.;SOLUTION: What is provided is a glass melting apparatus 1 provided with a melting furnace 2 which forms or heats molten glass G and a molten glass G effluent passage 4 projecting from the sidewall part 2a on the downstream side of the melting furnace 2 into the inside of the melting furnace 2, wherein the effluent passage 4 has constitution walls which separate the inside and outside of the effluent passage 4 and a molten glass influent port 4b of the molten glass G formed by opening at least part of the upper part of the constitution walls, and the influent port 4b is located upwardly distant from the bottom 2b of the melting furnace 2.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
