PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for downloading application software which prevents the occurrence of a useless "down load of application software" to an on-board device from a center.;SOLUTION: In the download method, when the on-board device 11 is used by a user A in a vehicle 10, the on-board device 11 transfers an authentication request together with the "user ID of the user A, a password inputted by the user A, a model number of the on-board device 11 and an identification number of the vehicle 10" to the center 40. Upon the confirmation of a membership of the user A and the validity of the password, the center 40 extracts "application software that is under a license agreement with the user A, operable on the on-board device 11 and suitable to the sort of the vehicle 10" from a data table on the basis of "the user ID of the user A, the model number of the on-board device 11 and the identification number of the vehicle 10", and transmits an application software list representing the result to the on-board device 11.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
