PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recommendation information providing device capable of improving reliability of attribute information of an information provider providing the recommendation information, and to provide a portable terminal, a method for providing recommendation information, a method for supporting provision of the recommendation information, and a program.SOLUTION: The recommendation information providing device communicates with a portable terminal that a provider of recommendation information uses, and a requester terminal that a requester of the recommendation information uses, respectively. The recommendation information providing device includes: acquiring means for acquiring position information of the portable terminal; memory means for memorizing the acquired position information; storage means for storing the recommendation information of the provider; and control means that, when receiving from the requester terminal, retrieval area information for identifying a retrieval area, refers to the storage means to identify the terminal that is the portable terminal present in the retrieval area, refers to the storage means and transmits the recommendation information that is the recommendation information of the provider using the terminal to the requester terminal.
