PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and method for retransmitting control messages for retransmission in a multihop relay-based wireless communication system.SOLUTION: The method includes: checking for errors in data received from an upper node (S603); and, when messages indicative of presence or absence of error occurrence are received from lower nodes (S607), transmitting to the upper node a message indicative of presence or absence of error occurrence in the data and the messages indicative of presence or absence of error occurrence received from the lower nodes, at the same time (S609). Advantageously, a relay station can simultaneously transmit, to the upper node, control messages for an automatic retransmission request provided from the lower nodes.
