PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a terephthalic acid diester composition having a lowered freezing point.SOLUTION: A composition contains n-butyl isobutyl terephthalate, di-n-butyl terephthalate, and diisobutyl terephthalate. The composition is produced by bringing an n-butanol, isobutanol, and dimethyl terephthalate into contact with one another in an amount of 0.5:1.0 to 4.0:1.0 molar ratio of the n-butanol/isobutanol, in the presence of a catalyst.
