PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a memory malfunction detecting device for image processing which correctly detects an abnormal operation without monitoring an image signal when a memory for the image processing abnormally operates, and to provide an image display device using the memory malfunction detecting device, and a memory malfunction detecting method for the image processing.SOLUTION: A memory malfunction detecting device for image processing comprises: a temperature difference measuring part 17A for measuring temperature difference of ambient temperature of a DRAM 5 which is a memory for image processing; a memory 9 which is a temperature difference range holding part for holding a predetermined range of the temperature difference in the DRAM 5 which is the memory for the image processing; and a fault determining part 8 which is a determining part for comparing measured power source current with a current range (IthL-IthH) held in the memory 9, and determining whether the measured temperature difference is out of the range of the temperature difference or not.
