PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of detecting a target in a non-uniform environment using space-time adaptive processing of a radar signal.;SOLUTION: The method includes normalizing training data in a non-uniform environment to obtain normalized training data, determining a normalized sample covariance matrix representing normalized training data, tracking a partial space represented by the normalized sample covariance matrix to obtain a clutter partial space matrix, determining a verification statistic amount representing the likelihood of existence of a target in the radar signal on the basis of the clutter partial space matrix and a steering vector, and comparing the verification statistic amount with a threshold value to detect the target.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
