PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing α-aluminum oxide precursor sol capable of synthesizing α-aluminum oxide easily at a low temperature with a reduced load to be loaded on an environment.;SOLUTION: This method for producing α-aluminum oxide precursor sol includes a step P5 for mixing amorphous aluminum hydroxide with carboxylic acid and stirring the mixture. In the constitution, as the amorphous aluminum hydroxide, undried aluminum hydroxide gel can be used, which is obtained through a step P1 for preparing aqueous solution of an aluminum salt, a step P2 for generating a precipitate of aluminum hydroxide by adjusting pH of the aqueous solution to be 4-11, and a step P3 for separating generated aluminum hydroxide from a solvent.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
