PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a reduction in processing performance caused by exhaustion of resources in a network fault monitoring device, and also shorten the time needed for supervising network devices in total.;SOLUTION: A network fault monitoring device 1 comprises a plurality of monitor packet transmission/reception threads 23 (#1) to (#n) which supervise a group of network devices and a transmission/reception thread group management unit 22 which manages the commencement and termination of transmission/reception processing of packets in the plurality of monitor packet transmission/reception threads 23. When one of the monitor packet transmission/reception threads 23 enters a reply wait state after last monitor packet retransmission, the transmission/reception thread group management unit 22 causes transmission/reception processing of the other monitor packet transmission/reception threads 23 to begin.
