PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high toughness cemented carbide which enhances transverse rupture strength and compressive strength and also enhances fatigue strength than before while containing a minute amount of chromium (Cr).;SOLUTION: A high toughness cemented carbide includes tungsten carbide (WC), cobalt (Co), and chromium (Cr), wherein an average particle size of WC is 1.5-20.0 μm, Vickers hardness is 650-1,650 Hv, Co is contained in the amount of 4-30 mass%, Cr is contained in the amount of 2-18 mass% of the Co content, the balance comprises WC and unavoidable impurities, a full width at half maximum of an x-ray diffraction pattern is 0.42 degree or less, which x-ray diffraction pattern is obtained when an x-ray diffraction pattern (2θ=44.3 degrees) of a plate (111) of fcc in a Co phase using Cu-Kα radiation is overlapped with an x-ray diffraction pattern (2θ=44.9 degrees) of a plate (002) of hcp, and a lattice parameter of fcc in the Co phase is 3.560 Å or more.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
