PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chain transfer agent of a new type, in which there is no problem of stench, and which is composed only by carbon, hydrogen and oxygen, is environment-friendly, and can impart a functional group to polymer; and to provide the polymer imparted with the functional group, and a method of manufacturing the polymer.;SOLUTION: The chain transfer agent comprises a (meth)acrylate compound having a condensed polycyclic aromatic skeleton shown by General formula (1).
