PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a strontium selective adsorbent which allows strontium in seawater or an aqueous solution containing seawater salt components to be separated/recovered solely and selectively without being affected by calcium coexisting in the aqueous solution when the strontium is separated, so that the calcium itself remains in the aqueous solution as it is without being separated substantially.;SOLUTION: The strontium selective adsorbent is obtained by forming a calcium alginate film on the surface of a granular strontium adsorbing member, which is solidified by using an inorganic material and is made to adsorb the selectively permeated strontium. When the strontium selective adsorbent is used in seawater or the aqueous solution containing seawater salt components, the calcium alginate film exhibits such a property that calcium is not permeated, or both of calcium and magnesium are not permeated but strontium is permeated selectively.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
