PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To acquire spectral characteristics with high accuracy at high speed and at low cost.SOLUTION: A spectral characteristics acquisition apparatus for acquiring spectral characteristics of a measuring object by estimation using a transformation matrix from a quantity of light of a plurality of wavelength bands which is obtained by separating reflected light from the measuring object comprises: transformation matrix calculation means which calculates a first transformation matrix from the quantity of light of the plurality of wavelength bands which is obtained from a known standard object by spectral characteristics and the known spectral characteristics, and calculates a second transformation matrix from the known spectral characteristics of a first wavelength band obtained from the standard object and a second wavelength band different from the first wavelength band; spectral characteristics acquisition means which acquires the spectral characteristics of the measuring object by synthesizing a primary estimation result estimated by using the first transformation matrix from the quantity of light of the plurality of wavelength bands and a secondary estimation result of the second wavelength band estimated by using the second transformation matrix from the primary estimation result of the first wavelength band.
