SEPARATION AND CLEANING METHOD FOR RADIOACTIVE CESIUM CONTAMINATED SOIL AND ITS DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of soil contamination in various regions due to radioactive materials scattered by the accident of the nuclear plant: right now a method of scraping the ground surface with radioactive cesium attached is being applied to reduce the amount of radiation while it is crucial to reduce a huge amount of soil to be removed because the operation must be developed over a wide range.;SOLUTION: As a result of an examination per particle of the soil including radioactive cesium, it is confirmed that finer the soil constituent particle is, the higher the inclusion rate of radioactive cesium becomes. Therefore, by using a separation and cleaning method for radioactive cesium contaminated soil and its device for screening and removing fine particles including clay in the sediment or the like, the amount of radiation is reduced and the amount of soil to be disposed of is reduced.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
