PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color filter (CF) preventing malfunction of a TFT when BM (Black Matrix) and pigments are formed on an active element such as the TFT, and accommodating to methods such as a BOA (Black matrix On Array) method, COA (Color filter On Array) method and IPS (In-Plane Switching) method by improving black or chromatic pigments for forming a component of the color filter.;SOLUTION: The CF includes a black matrix (BM), chromatic pigments having trichromatic colors, and columnar spacers provided as needed basis that are formed in contact with, close to or superposed on an electrode. When any of the BM and the chromatic pigments with trichromatic colors, and the columnar spacers provided as needed basis include pigments, each of the columnar spacers is formed by including any one of the black pigment and the chromatic pigment. When the pigment after the composition is washed with water with conductivity of 50 μS/cm or less, the volume resistivity of the pigment itself is 10⁸ Ω cm or more and an average particle size thereof is 10 nm to 200 nm.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
