PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simultaneously and inexpensively execute measurement employing a light shielding system and measurement employing a fluorescence system.;SOLUTION: A water quality measuring instrument includes: a light source 3 which has the output state switched between a high output state and a low output state at prescribed time intervals and radiates light toward a water sample 2 flowing in a flow cell and including fluorescently labeled microbes; a light shielding detector 4 which is disposed in a position facing the light source 3 with the flow cell 1 therebetween and detects the light radiated from the light source 3 through the water sample 2; and a fluorescence detector 5 which detects a fluorescence intensity of the water sample flowing in the flow cell 1. The light shielding detector 4 detects microbes on the basis of optical output detected when the output state of the light source 3 is the low output state, and the fluorescence detector 5 detects microbes on the basis of fluorescence intensity detected when the output state of the light source 3 is the high output state.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
