PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology capable of performing file distribution at high speed while dynamically configuring redundancy of a file distribution system.SOLUTION: A file distribution method 100 for distributing a plurality of distribution files from a master server 2 which stores the plurality of distribution files to a plurality of servers 3 performs the steps of: generating distribution configuration 20 which is a subset of a distribution file group; assigning a sever 3 to each of nodes of the distribution configuration 20 on the basis of system state information which shows states of the master server 2 and/or the plurality of servers 3; distributing a distribution file to be assigned to a node corresponding to a server 3, for each of the servers 3, on the basis of the distribution configuration; and transferring the distribution file which the server 3 corresponding to the node does not own by a mutual direct transfer method, on the basis of distribution file management information. Also, a file distribution system 1, the master server 2 and a file distribution program are disclosed.
