The ELISA on matrix metalloproteinase-9 complex - haptoglobin as a diagnostic test for conditions including acute inflammation

Method for detecting (Hp-MMP9) composite matrix metalloproteinase 9 - haptoglobin in a biological sample. The method includes the steps of attaching the capture reagent to Hp-MMP9 by incubating the biological sample with the capture reagent immobilized on a solid support. Capture reagent comprises a monoclonal antibody that binds to the MMP9. By contacting a detectable antibody binding to Hp and Hp-MMP9 which is bound, the method detects the Hp-MMP9 bound to the immobilized capture reagent.
