IMAGE COLLATOR, PATIENT POSITIONER AND IMAGE VERIFICATION METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a high-precision double-stage pattern matching (double-stage collation) even if the tomographic images of a present three-dimensional image are less in number than the three-dimensional reference image when positioning a patient under radiation therapy.SOLUTION: The image collator has a collating part 22 to collate the three-dimensional reference image with a present three-dimensional image, and calculate the body position or posture correction quantities necessary for an affected bodily part on the present image to match that on the reference image. The collating part 22 includes a primary collating part 16 for making the primary collation of the reference image with the present image, and a secondary collator 17 for making the secondary collation of a predetermined template area produced as a result of primary collation of one of the reference or present image with a specified search area produced as a result of primary collation of the other of reference or present image area not producing the specified template area as a result of primary collation.
