PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer flocculant which achieves greatly improved dehydration treatment efficiency of sludge by causing a strong coarse flock to be formed in treatment of sludge or waste water.SOLUTION: An organic/inorganic hybrid polymer flocculant contains polymers having a water-soluble organic polymer as a main chain and at least one kind of inorganic polymer chosen from a group composed of poly(aluminum chloride) and poly(ferric sulphate) as a side chain. A method for producing the organic/inorganic hybrid polymer flocculant is characterized by condensation reaction between a water-soluble organic polymer and at least one kind of inorganic polymer, wherein the water-soluble organic polymer has as essential constitutional units, a (meth)acryloyl group-containing monomer and a specific alkoxysilyl group-containing monomer, and wherein the inorganic polymer is chosen from a group consisting of poly(aluminum chloride) and poly(ferric sulphate).
