PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing ferromagnetic iron nitride grain powder particularly of fine grains.SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing ferromagnetic iron nitride grain powder comprises the steps of: mixing at least one kind of compound selected from metal hydride, metal halide and metal borohydride, and an iron compound and then performing a heat treatment on the mixture to obtain metallic iron; and mixing the resultant metal iron and a nitrogen-containing compound, and then performing a heat treatment on the mixture. The anisotropic magnet, the bond magnet and the powder-compact magnet are produced by using ferromagnetic iron nitride grain powder manufactured according to the method.
