PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To estimate the depth of a subject from a plurality of images obtained by imaging the subject and to generate a reconfigured image with high image quality by using an estimation result.;SOLUTION: A region definition section 3210 defines a pixel region on a sub image included in a light field image captured by an LFI capturing section 3110. For each pixel region, an SSD calculation section 3240 calculates an SSD between each region corresponding to a depth coefficient on a peripheral sub image and the pixel region. A region with a depth coefficient having a smallest sum of the SSD is defined as a corresponding region, and a coefficient voting section 3250 votes the depth coefficient of that region to a histogram of sub pixels in the corresponding region and the pixel region. On the basis of a voting result for each peripheral sub image, a sub pixel depth coefficient selection section 3260 selects a depth coefficient of each sub pixel and generates an LFI depth image. A depth image generation section 330 generates a depth image by light beam tracking from the LFI depth image and generates a reconfigured image indicating the depth of a subject.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
