PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To implement a generation device capable of generating a MPD that enables a reproduction device to perform trick reproduction at an arbitrary reproduction position and has distribution efficiency higher than that of the conventional one.;SOLUTION: A distribution server 300 periodically distributes a MPD of a content to a client device 100 during live distribution of the content. The distribution server 300 comprises a metadata creation part 320 creating an XML file including a URL of each media segment (MS) belonging to each period in the past. The metadata creation part 320 also creates the MPD.
