PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the effects of non-linear interaction between adjacent pulses in an optical fiber transmission system having non-soliton RZ signals.;SOLUTION: The phase difference between the end of one pulse and the beginning of the adjacent pulse is assumed to be in the range from 2/3 to 4/3.
