PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To calculate the accurate viscosity and shear viscosity of non-Newtonian fluid even when using a rotor in which any correction formula is not present.;SOLUTION: There is provided a method for measuring the viscosity of a measurement sample 2 as non-Newtonian fluid by using a rotary viscometer 1 having a storage container 10 for storing the measurement sample 2 and a rotor 20 arranged in the storage container 10 such that a central axis is made common, and configured to rotate in a state that it is immersed in the measurement sample 2. The method includes: a non-Newtonian fluid correction formula derivation step of deriving a non-Newtonian fluid correction formula corresponding to the shape of the rotor 20; a non-Newtonian fluid shear velocity calculation step of, assuming that a shear velocity measured from the measurement sample 2 is a measured apparent shear velocity, correcting the measured apparent shear velocity of the measurement sample 2 into a non-Newtonian fluid shear velocity by using the non-Newtonian fluid correction formula; and a non-Newtonian fluid viscosity calculation step of calculating the non-Newtonian fluid viscosity of the measurement sample 2 by using the non-Newtonian fluid shear velocity.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
