PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pigtail optical fiber with a mechanical splice facilitating the connection of optical fibers using a mechanical splice, an optical fiber connecting tool, and an optical fiber connecting method.;SOLUTION: The pigtail optical fiber with a mechanical splice includes: a pigtail optical fiber 2 to be butted on an insertion optical fiber; a mechanical splice 50 for clamping, holding, and fixing the pigtail optical fiber 2 between half-split elements 51 and 52 at one end side in the longitudinal direction of the mechanical splice: and a case 10 including a first mechanical splice housing part 20 housing the mechanical splice 50, and an extra length portion housing part 15 for housing an extra length portion set outside the mechanical splice 50 of the pigtail optical fiber 2 that is held and fixed to the mechanical splice 50.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
