PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid a wide-area power failure due to excess of electric power consumption against electric power supply amount.;SOLUTION: A wide-area power failure prevention system 10 includes a home gateway 31 for each commercial power supply user, and a wide-area power control server 21 in which stores user registration information 22 for each user. The wide-area power control server 21 determines whether it periodically transmits to the home gateway 31 a control command according to power use condition information 42 on the area to which the home gateway 31 belongs, on the basis of the user registration information 22. Each of electric appliances 34 operating with commercial power supply is connected to the home gateway 31. The home gateway 31 performs power saving control for each of electric appliances 34 connected to the home gateway 31 on the basis of a received control command if the home gateway 31 receives the control command.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
