PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a two-photon absorption material, which can perform non-resonant two-photon absorption of light in a wavelength region shorter than 700 nm with high sensitivity and shows sufficient recording and reproducing characteristics, and to provide a two-photon recording material, a recording medium and a two-photon absorption compound that can be used for the medium.SOLUTION: For example, an optical information recording medium is provided, having a recording layer formed of a non-resonant two-photon absorption recording material containing a compound expressed by formula (6). The optical information recording medium has a layered structure comprising, from the deepest side with respect to incident light, a substrate, a guide layer, a reflection layer, a spacer layer, the recording layer interposed by intermediate layers, and further, a cover layer and a hard coat layer on the surface side exposed to the incident light.
