PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for discriminating whether bacteria are metallo-β-lactamase producing bacteria by culturing the bacteria under normal culture conditions.;SOLUTION: The separated and cultured bacteria are cultured with a β-lactam drug and a metal-EDTA chelate complex, and the growth conditions of the test bacteria in the presence and absence of the metal-EDTA chelate complex are compared to examine whether there is influence on growth by the metal-EDTA chelate complex.
