摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a watertight material for watertight polyvinyl chloride insulated wire, which stably provides good watertightness, that is, a good water-blocking effect, and is controlled in viscosity to such a degree that the material can be filled in gaps between the insulating material and the strand and together in gaps in the strand with good filling property; and to provide a watertight polyvinyl chloride insulated wire.SOLUTION: A copolymer for the watertight material to be used is a copolymer of vinyl chloride, vinyl acetate and (meth)acrylic acid, a copolymer of vinyl chloride, vinyl acetate and an unsaturated dicarboxylic acid, or a mixture thereof, wherein the content proportion of the vinyl acetate moiety in the copolymer is controlled at 10 to 12 wt%; and viscosity at 150°C at a shear rate of 1,000 sof the watertight material is made to be 10 to 100 Pa-s.
