PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a non-resonance type knocking sensor that can suppress a decrease in internal insulation and also reduce manufacturing costs, and a method of manufacturing the non-resonance type knocking sensor.SOLUTION: A knocking sensor 1 includes a sensor body 10 having: a piezoelectric element 18 which is stacked on a main-body metal fitting 11 including a metal fitting-side cylindrical part 12 and a metal fitting-side collar part 13; a weight 22; and a fixation part 31 pressing the weight 22 toward the metal fitting-side collar part 13 and fixing the weight 22. The fixation part 31 has a fixation-side cylindrical part 32 which is pressed at least partially against an outer periphery of the metal fitting-side cylindrical part 12 to be crimped, the fixation-side cylindrical part 32 is crimped inward in a radial direction at a plurality of places which are peripherally apart from one another, and a resin is interposed between the metal fitting-side cylindrical part and fixation-side cylindrical part. Consequently, a resin for insulation can be made apt to flow into a space between the main body metal fitting 11 and the piezoelectric element 18 and so on, and the decrease in insulation in the knocking sensor 1 can be suppressed.
