PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for reducing the time of an initial setting in a conventional method, and automating the initial setting of a probability model and a threshold value.;SOLUTION: This method for automating the initial setting of an abnormal signal detection system for digital data having approximate periodicity includes: a learning series setting process acquiring a learning series from a partial series of the digital data having the approximate periodicity; a probability model construction process constructing the probability model from the learning series; a data compression process compressing the learning series utilized for the construction of the probability model by use of the constructed probability model; and a threshold value setting process setting the detecting threshold value to the probability model by use of data compressed in the data compression process.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
