The invention concerns a wind turbine (1, 50) comprising a bedplate (5, 55), a main shaft (9, 59) and a direct drive generator (2, 52) comprising a rotor (18, 68) and a stator (19, 69) containing a hollow part like housing substantially arranged around the rotor (18, 68) and containing a first endplate (28, 78), a second endplate (29, 79) and a casing element (32, 82) connecting the first (28, 78) and the second (29, 79) endplate to each other, wherein the main shaft (9, 59) is pivoted relatively to the bedplate (5, 5) by a first (7, 57) and a second (8, 58) bearing, the first endplate (28, 78) of the stator (19, 69) is supported on the rotor (18, 68) by a third bearing (27, 77) and the second endplate (29, 79) of the stator (19, 69) is at least indirectly attached to the bedplate (5, 55). The invention concerns moreover a method for the mounting of the wind turbine (1) in particular for the mounting of the direct drive generator (2) and a method for the adjustment of the air gap (34) between the rotor (18) and the stator (19) of the generator (2) of the wind turbine (1) by adjusting at least one arrest and/or adjustment element (35).
