PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for cutting a tablet in half which can reduce whole amount of a tablet cassetter sharply by attaining wide use of the tablet cassetter. PSOLUTION: The tablet cassetter 10 includes a cutter 7 which takes a first attitude crossing a tablet holding passage 24 being between a partition plate 6 and a tablet discharging passage 4 when a tablet, which is held in the tablet holding passage 24 and is conveyed by rotation of a tablet holding rotor 2, is cut in half and which takes a second attitude evacuating from the tablet holding passage 24 when the tablet is not cut in half.
