PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a measuring instrument for gravimetric moisture determination which can be cleaned easily.SOLUTION: An instrument for gravimetrically determining moisture content has a housing, with a weighing device arranged inside. The weighing device has a load receiver onto which a sample 62 is placed. The housing has stationary and movable housing parts, the movable housing part moving between a measuring position and a servicing position. In the measuring position, the respective housing parts form an essentially enclosed testing compartment surrounding a load receiver in which sample heating means heats a sample. In the servicing position, the respective housing parts are spaced apart from each other, allowing the sample heating means to be accessed for servicing. The sample heating means is protected by a glass shield arranged between the sample heating means and the load receiver in the measuring position.
