PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for controlling a coating film thickness which is simple in adjustment of parameters and has high mode prediction accuracy, and to provide a system therefor. PSOLUTION: The method comprises a computer for operation (process computer) 1 for managing and controlling the operation, a past operation data base 2 for accumulating/storing the past operation data, and an operation prediction apparatus 3 for predicting the operation result. The operation prediction apparatus 3 further comprises an operation prediction computation request input section, a prediction subject material data input section, a past operation data read section, a predicted value computation section, a result display element, and a storage.
