PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a field bus type electromagnetic flowmeter without increasing a consumption current of a field bus system when software is updated. PSOLUTION: In the field bus type electromagnetic flowmeter connected to the field bus to perform communication with a host apparatus and powered from the field bus, the field bus type electromagnetic flowmeter includes an excitation current control unit reducing an excitation current supplied to an excitation coil from an excitation circuit by a prescribed amount from a rated value during software updating processing from the host apparatus.
