PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording apparatus that prints a test pattern that can easily specify the state and the position of the defective nozzle, since the nozzle pitch of the recording head narrows along with the higher image quality, and specification of a defective nozzle and specification of the defective nozzle position are difficult in the print of lines, like in the past, and especially when the ink is bent and discharged, the defective nozzle cannot be distinguished.;SOLUTION: The nozzle is divided into a plurality of blocks, and a first test pattern 1 prints a short line from a leading nozzle of each block: the nozzle is divided into the odd number nozzle group and the even number nozzle group, and a second test pattern 2 prints a short line from all nozzles of each nozzle group at the same time; the nozzle is divided into the odd number nozzle groups and the even number nozzle groups, and a third test pattern 3 prints a short line from all nozzles excluding the nozzles registered as defective nozzles of each nozzle group by nozzle groups, and the three test patterns are printed by one scan.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
