PHARMACEUTICAL COMPOSITION OF COMBINATION OF DIPEPTIDYL PEPTIDASE-4 INHIBITOR WITH METFORMIN

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide pharmaceutical compositions comprising fixed dose combinations of a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 inhibitor and metformin, methods of preparing such pharmaceutical compositions, and methods of treating Type 2 diabetes with such pharmaceutical compositions.SOLUTION: A pharmaceutical composition comprises: (a) about 3-20 wt.% of a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof; (b) about 25-94 wt.% of metformin hydrochloride; (c) about 0.1-10 wt.% of a lubricant; and (d) about 0-35 wt.% of a binding agent.
