摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method, an apparatus, etc. for measuring a welding diameter of a friction stir welding part which can measure a diffusion welding diameter at high accuracy by non-destructive measurement using ultrasonic waves.;SOLUTION: Measurement of a welding diameter of a welding part between upper and lower plates 21, 22 using a friction stir point welding method is performed as follows. First, an estimation value φA of a welding diameter is determined by ultrasonic measurement, and then a distance ▵T between a pressing position of a shoulder of a welding tool and a rear face of the upper plate 21 in friction stir welding is determined. When the distance ▵T exceeds a predetermined threshold, the estimation value φA is determined as a measurement value φA'' of the welding diameter. A suitable threshold is set and the welding diameter φA'' avoiding influence (false determination that the plates are welded but actually unwelded) exerted by a press-contact surface area PE is measured.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
