PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic transducer and a method for manufacturing an ultrasonic probe, capable of ensuring the shape of an ultrasonic beam emitted from an ultrasonic probe and the accuracy in a radiation direction by facilitating processing of an electric signal to be transmitted and received while simplifying the connection structure between the ultrasonic transducer and an electronic circuit, and by ensuring the position accuracy of a piezoelectric element arrangement in the ultrasonic transducer while solving the complexity in a manufacturing process of the ultrasonic transducer, and to provide a method for manufacturing the ultrasonic probe. PSOLUTION: Conductive films are formed on the side surfaces of a piezoelectric body, an insulating groove is formed on the side surface with the conductive film, and after the insulating film is formed, the piezoelectric body is disposed on a printed wiring board with electrode leads formed thereon.
