P To provide a press machine which can perform many kinds of working stages including a working stage (s) with a long working time by one press machine and to provide a working method using the press machine. PSOLUTION: In the press machine for the plurality of stages where a belt-like material is subjected to press working in a plurality of stages, in at least one stage therein, the profile of a cam is formed in such a manner that, in a state where the belt-like material is stopped and a punch progresses toward the belt-like material and is abutted against the belt-like material so as to perform the first stage of working to the belt-like material; thereafter and the progress of the punch is inverted; the punch is retreated so as to be separated from the belt-like material; further and the progress of the punch is inverted once more; and the punch progresses toward the belt-like material once more and is abutted against the worked part in the first stage of the belt-like material so as to perform the second stage of working to the belt-like material.
