PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To estimate individual attributes, such as gender and age, of a target person with high accuracy on the basis of biological information. PSOLUTION: Individual attributes are classified into a plurality of categories, a criterion that discriminates which of two different categories they belong to is learned, and a discriminant is decided in advance. A feature value is extracted from acquired biological information and is input to the discriminant to discriminate which category it belongs to. The discrimination is performed with respect to the respective classified categories to estimate individual attributes on the basis of the respective discrimination results. In estimating a plurality of individual attributes, such as a gender and age, categories subdivided according to the plurality of individual attributes are created and the individual attributes are estimated stepwise.
