P To provide a flash detection device for a resin molded article which can precisely detect a thin film-like flash which is difficult to detect. PSOLUTION: In the flash detection device for the resin molded article for detecting a flash generated ON the resin molded article 20 formed of a colored resin and the flash is a thin film-like flash and its ejection direction to the resin molded article 20 is presumable. The flash detection device comprises: image photographing devices 5 and 6 which are installed in a direction almost orthogonal to the ejection direction and photograph an image of the resin molded article 20; and illuminating devices 7 and 8 which are positioned ON the opposite side to the image photographing devices 5 and 6 with the resin molded article 20 interposing therebetween and is found in a location slightly deviated from an optic axis of the image photographing devices 5 and 6, and emits an illuminating light including at least a short wavelength to a presumed position of the thin film-like flash. The illuminating light emitted from the illuminating devices 7 and 8 reflects OFF the resin molded article 20, then an image formed by scattered light coming into the image photographing devices 5 and 6 is photographed, and an image processing device 10 detects whether the thin film-like flash exists or not and according to the image.
