PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a measurement system of metal embedding depth and a method of measuring metal embedding depth for measuring the embedding depth of metal easily and precisely. PSOLUTION: The measurement system of metal embedding depth includes: a measurement unit 10 for detecting metal; and a measurement result outputting device 50 for calculating and outputting the embedding depth of metal, based on a result detected by the measurement unit 10. By scanning the measurement unit 10 along the surface of a buried object, a position directly above a surface, namely a position directly above metal on the surface of the buried object, is located. At the same time, by scanning the measurement unit 10 along an incline crossing, at an optional angle, the surface of the buried object at a position separated from the position directly above the surface by first optional distance, the embedding depth of metal is calculated, based on first distance, second distance, namely distance from a position where the surface of the buried object crosses the incline to the position directly above the incline, and the angle when the position directly above the incline, namely the position directly above the metal on the inline, is identified.
