PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a print preview data generation device which can preview print results on a screen based on the print data and the color information of a print medium, and to provide a print preview data generation program and a computer readable recording medium. PSOLUTION: At first, the color of a print medium is set on the print set screen of a printer driver (S1). Then the print data of W2 value is input (S2). Then the print data of W2 value is converted into print data of W256 gray scale (S3). More specifically, the number of dots of a W in a 8×8 squares is counted and multiplied by 255/64 thus converting that value into a value of 256 gray scale of the W (S3). Thereafter, the RGB data for print preview is calculated (S4) by performing predetermined operation of the colors (Ur, Ug, Ub) of a print medium (ground) input in the processing of S1, and the value of 256 gray scale of the W obtained in the processing of S3.
