PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an abutment, the strength of which can be sufficiently increased without the need for large-scale construction, and a method for reinforcing fill provided on the backside of the abutment. PSOLUTION: The fill 3 is formed on the backside of the abutment 2 of a bride 1. An anchor plate 5 is provided on the slope of the fill 3. A cable 7 makes an entry into the fill 3 from the front side of the abutment 2, and protrudes from the slope of the fill 3. After that, an end of the cable 7, which is protruded from the slope of the fill 3, is anchored to the anchor plate 5.
