PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio meter reading system and a handy terminal for radio meter reading that carry out an action according to a command inputted by an operator only when the handy terminal which is manipulated by the operator is combined with a corresponding base unit.;SOLUTION: The radio meter reading system composed of sub units 103, 104, 105, 106 for transmitting read meter data by radio from meters 107, 108, 109 and 110 that are installed in consumer homes, the base unit 102 for carrying out radio communication with the sub units, and the handy terminal for communicating with the base unit, gives an individual base unit identification code to the base unit 102, and when the base unit identification code is not the code corresponding to the HT identification code which the handy terminal 101 has, the handy terminal 101 does not act according to the command inputted by the operator.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
