PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nematic liquid crystal composition capable of being preferably applied to a bi stable nematic liquid crystal display element.;SOLUTION: The nematic liquid crystal composition containing 20 mass% or more of a specific liquid crystal compound (A) having a polar group, containing 3 mass% or more of the specific liquid crystal compound having a pyrimidine ring among the compound (A) and containing 5-50 mass% of the specific liquid crystal compound (B) not having a polar group is used. Thereby, the bi stable nematic liquid crystal display element having a wide nematic liquid crystal phase temperature range and a wide action temperature range can be obtained.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
