PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an exterior wall from being damaged by an external force, even when the excessive external force acts on a balustrade. PSOLUTION: This structure for connecting the balustrade and the external wall together includes the balustrade A which is supported by one or more supports 24, the exterior wall B facing an end of the balustrade A, and a coupling structure C for connecting the balustrade A and the exterior wall B together. The coupling structure C includes a balustrade-side coupler 1 which is supported by the end of the balustrade A, an exterior wall-side coupler 2 which is supported by the exterior wall B, and a coupling member 3 which couples both the couplers 1 and 2 together and which releases the connection of the exterior wall-side and balustrade-side couplers 2 and 1 from each other by the action of a shear force lower in magnitude than the support strength of the exterior wall-side coupler 2 by the exterior wall B and that of the support of the balustrade-side coupler 1 by the balustrade A.
